Pomeroy's sits firmly in the category of a classic bar & grill, offering a straightforward, unpretentious spot in north Phoenix where locals gather for good food, drinks, and laid-back socializing. Situated on N 7th Street, its atmosphere carries the vibe of a well-worn dive bar that’s as much about community as it is about the menu.

This place is best experienced when you want a casual night out—especially on a Friday or Saturday when the spot buzzes with regulars grabbing a cold 805 beer, shooting pool, or throwing darts. The bar caters to those who prefer a hands-on ordering style, as you typically approach the bar yourself rather than relying on waitstaff. There’s a steady hum of activity around the pool tables, shuffleboard, and classic bar games like Megatouch and Golden Tee, making it a natural hangout for groups of friends and even biker crowds.

The food menu echoes that no-frills, hearty bar fare that pairs perfectly with a cold beer. Signature items like the Turkey Green Chile Melt, Patty Melt, and wings are crafted fresh and hit the spot without fuss. Potato salad and familiar sandwich options round out the variety, appealing to anyone looking for filling plates rather than gourmet dining. While the service leans on competent bartenders with occasional assistance from waitstaff, the staff exude a friendly, informal charm, often creating personalized touches like birthday shots that add to a welcoming vibe rather than polished professionalism.

Expect a place where the focus is on comfort and camaraderie rather than decor or fine dining. The bathrooms are well-maintained, which is a notable plus in a dive bar setting, and parking can be a bit tricky due to the location and popularity. Sports fans will find a good spot here for watching games amid a crowd that shares the same local pride and easygoing attitude.

In sum, Pomeroy’s suits those who want to unwind in a setting that feels like an old neighborhood bar—good prices, familiar faces, and a place where you’re as likely to catch up with friends over a game of pool as you are to dig into a solid bar burger and chill out with a cold beer.

Pomeroys is an old style bar where people are treated like friends or family. It’s got excellent bar food, isn’t five star fancy food, but it’s hardy, tasty and made fresh. Bartenders are competent and occasionally there’s a waitress but most of the time you go up and order your own drink. There are pool tables, dartboards, shuffleboard and a few video games. It has one of the best local bar feels to it and once you walk in the door and it closes behind you it’s a hometown bar that could be anywhere in the United States. It’s a place to meet friends and family when you just wanna get out of the house and hang out. I’ve been going there, (35+ years) off and on for ever and it’s always the same feel and vibe. It isn’t trendy it’s traditional. It’s the type place that if you’re a little homesick, this place feels like home.

Best bar with the best prices. Touchtunes, Megatouch and Golden Tee available. Great place to watch football. 4 pool tables and shuffleboard. Restrooms are good. They run your card once. Danny, Ryan and all the bartenders are the best!

If you love dive bars, look no further. I have been coming here and have nothing bad to say about it. The service is 4/5 cause the staff lost my order but gave it to me no charge, I paid anyway cause it was worth the extra $10 I left for it. It is a fun, relaxed atmosphere, with good food, good drinks and nice staff. The parking is limited, and good luck finding a spot by it.
